Next Step Mission
In addition to the necessary emotional support of our
weekly "sharing" meetings, New Beginnings-Next Step also provides
important weekly assistance to post-release individuals in the form of
bus tokens, food vouchers, clothing, and other basic essentials. From
time to time, New Beginnings-Next Step also handles special "moving
forward" needs for regularly attending members. This help may take the
form of short-term emergency shelter assistance, or contributions
towards items or services such as new tools or auto repair, a new bed,
or a used computer. It has even been used to expand employment options
by paying the tuition for highway flagging certification with the
Delaware Department of Transportation.

cycle of recidivism throughout the state of Delaware.

New Beginnings-Next Step derives its main
financial support through private donations. Weekly meeting
space for returning citizen groups is generously provided by
Saint Francis Hospital of Wilmington, Delaware.
